View Full Version : GTP or carpet
Which would go better in this setup I plan on both but one at a time. Temp and humidity are no matter a UTH basking light and misting system are already installed. It is 3x2.5x2.5

that is about the size my yearling carpet is in now, but I'm pretty confident she will outgrow it pretty soon. I imagine a GTP could live in something that size permanently; so its just a question of whether you'd like it to be a forever home, or temporary?

I'd say you could keep a carpet in there for about 2-3 years depending on rate of growth. You could keep a GTP in there for life.

Too small for a carpet imo, would just about get away with a GTP tho

That's most definitely enough for a gtp. I have mine in a 3x2x2 and it's plenty of room. Depends on how you use space efficiently(with perches...etc).

Since you are going to get both eventually anyway.. I would get the carpet first and while it is growing to adult size be looking for, or building, an adult enclosure for it. Then once the carpet is ready to be moved over, replace it with a GTP in the enclosure pictured. :crazy2:
