I started feeding him at about 3:30 it's now 5:30 and he still hasn't gotten it down. I unfortunately had to move him 30 minutes ago because the tub I had him in was about to be used. :( He's in another smaller tub, but I'm just kind of worried and don't want him to get hurt. Any advice besides to just wait it out?

is he still trying to eat it, i.e. jaws moving etc?

If you fed him in his actual cage, you wouldn't have had to move him… and TBH I'm not sure what you would 'need' to use an occupied tub for so urgently?

Yeah, in fact he's about to finish it. I feed him in the bath tub. I hear mixed reasons as to why I should feed him in the enclosure and why not. I prefer not to because I use coco-husk and don't want that to get ingested. The person I live with needed to take a shower before work and well wasn't going to take no for an answer. Usually doesn't take so long for him to ingest it. But he just about has it down now.

ah, i didn't realize that by 'tub' you actually meant 'bathtub'. I feed all my snakes in their cages, and have used aspen and cypress mulch, with no problems.

Glad he has almost finished though!

My snakes all eat on cocohusk and have ingested it.

what KORBIN forgot to mention is that none of them have died from it, either ;)

personally i would not move a snake until its taken the prey completely down into the stomach, even then i support the feeding bulge

i feed most of mine in their tanks,i take out snakes that are co habiting and feed one in, one out the tank,i use a plastic tub for the one out the tank

cheers shaun

p.s.its carpet pythons i co habit
