Gonna make the jump to a Chondro or ETB soon but I'm not yet confident on where to get a boa. Doesn't seem like there are many CBB northern babies/young for sale at this time. Anybody have a reliable source for them?

Psh, send me the money and I will lol. Amazon basins are beautiful snakes but I think I'll wait till their price drops drastically. Until then I'll stick to Northerns.

Lol, I had some sticker shock too! ETB's are my favorite non-venomous arboreals. I will keep my eyes peeled for any CBB hatchling/juvie northerns.

Found an awesome deal!
kingsnake.com Classifieds: Baby Emerald Tree Boas now in! (Corallus caninus), Holiday Sale! (http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=33&de=1030891)
There is a down side though. They appear to be wild caught or were "captive hatched" by an exporter in Suriname, and then imported here. I'm a little conflicted by this. On one hand it's a killer deal!($339 shipped for a baby ETB.WOW) On the other I would be supporting something that I'm not a fan of. There are a couple other things too. Parasites and other diseases are a concern. Also there is no guarantee that the animal is feeding consistently. Oh and the seller is NOT known for quality animals or ethical business practices. You think it's worth rolling the dice?

I'm with Primal Rage on this one. If you don’t agree with capturing wild snakes for the pet trade or the practice of captive hatched snakes, then you can't support the practice; even if it means you have to pay more for that special snake you want. Doing so is to say that you have "situational ethics", which in itself is an oxymoron. You either have ethics or you don't. You can't have "part-time" ethics (unless of course you're a politician). Look at the parrot trade and how they have decimated the populations of some of the rarer species of parrots. The nest raiders and smugglers have put some animals on the endangered species list, all to feed the pet trade. If parrot collectors hadn’t supported those practices by purchasing wild caught birds, it wouldn’t have happened. I hope that herpers learn from that experience and resist the urge to support the practice of purchasing wild caught or captive hatched snakes to add to our collections. Then of course there is also the risk of introducing disease or parasites into your existing collection which could be devastating. Just one mans opinion.
