Hey eveyone,
I was wondering, I read on a caresheet ahwile back and if I recall it said on warm summer days you should take your bearded dragons outside from an half an hour to 2 hours. Will they sit on your shoulder that long? Are there anything you should keep them away from don't worry we don't have fireflies by our house so that wouldn't be a problem with taking a beardie out during the morning but are there plants or anything to keep them away from? Say you started walking around with him/her would an older beardie that's relitivly tame make any attemp to exscape? Say you run into friends should you let them touch or hold them? What about other pets would they react to a passin barking dog? Or someone with a larger reptile? Should you keep them away from little kids? How about adults? Should you let them crawl around in the grass while you keep an eye on them? Imagining worst case if a beardie ever made a bolt for it would it be very fast? Whats the longest time you should keep your beardie outside?:firestart
thaks any info would be great

It is beneficial for many species of lizard and tortoise to spend time outside whether permitting (temperature must be appropriate). Common sense applies to all. When you take your herp outside, it is not similar to taking a dog outside. You dont walk it down the street, tae it to the park, or allow it near other animals (such as dogs). Safety for both herp and other animals/people is first priority. Do not allow it near anything you know it shouldnt be such as questionable plants, etc. Many people use a harness to keep their animals, I myself allow my Iguana to spend about 12 hours a day outside in the summer in a large cage. You should always be careful when allowing people to visit with your herp, but especially be careful with herps and children. Again, you dont want your herp or person to get injured or stressed. Assess the situation and use your best judgement. If you are unsure about something, then do not do it. All in all, just use common sense and have alot of fun
