Hi Ssnakess,

So last week I went ahead and fed Enzo, my Mex Mex Kingsnake, a hopper (he had previously been eating fuzzies). It was on the large side but he got it down and didn't regurgitate it. However, it took him like 30-45min to get it down, which is really slow for him, and I was honestly really worried that he would regurge. Anyway, I guess I'm just wondering if I should go ahead and keep feeding hoppers or go back down to fuzzies to play it safe. I don't want to end up "power feeding" but I wanted to move him up because he always seemed so hungry after a fuzzy and it hardly made a lump in his belly at all... Any advice is appreciated! :) Thanks!

if the fuzzy is hardly leaving a lump, it is probably time to move up in size. If you are concerned, you could always feed 2 fuzzes, but that should tell you that he is ready for a hopper ;)

I just finished up the last of my 'too small' hoppers for my corns, and put them up to the right size mouse, and it took them about 10 minutes to work it down. (from first finding it in the cage). you could always take a picture of the snake next to something i.e. a quarter or a playing card, and the prey item next to the same item.

well, I just tried to feed him a hopper again and he got about to its shoulders then decided he didn't want to eat it... :( I guess I tried to move him up too soon. I will get him a fuzzy tomorrow.
