So I tried something new...

I tried my first ring yesterday, just a normal bp with not much to it since I wasn't sure if it was even going to work out as I had nothing to size the ring on. I'm pretty happy with it considering i've NEVER made something so tiny!!! I'm hoping since making this I can figure out a way to make a ring base with it so making more will be easier then its just practicing to get better at making patterns on such small things!

Very cool! You can buy ring mandrels fairly cheap, from a number of places online.

Charis this might be a silly question but what are ring mandrels?

Sublimeballs its polymer clay and if I can figure out a way to get sizes and stuff then I might actually make a few for sale

A ring mandrel is a length of some material, the good ones are some kind of metal but there are wood ones, that are marked with all the ring sizes. It has a lot of uses, including using it to make rings on, that are precisely the right size. I bought one when I was making a lot of jewelry because I wanted to get into rings but never did actually make more than a few. They go from anywhere between $3-$80 here and there are all kinds of places online that sell them. Here is a picture of one.
