My male short tail is acting weird...

He has always eaten but in the last month or so he has been striking but nothing else, he seems more or less angry and just content on striking at the food but not actually taking it. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this.

Mine never constricts... He will attack it, but i just leave it in the rubbermaid, slide it back in teh rack and come back in 30 minutes and the rat is gone...

I agree 100% with Jeff on this one. My blood does the exact same thing. They seem to be very lazy feeders. Just don't become to complacent. After months of nosing the food item and slowly taking hold of it, my blood decided he would shoot out of his hide like a bat out of hell, grab and constrict the rat. D@*m near gave me a heart attack, because I got so used to him gently taking the prey from the tongs. Hard to believe such a "fat", lazy snake can move that fast!!
