View Full Version : Please help me determine what this is?
Hello all. We found this snake along our fence line yesterday. It is dark olive color with black spots. It is about 4 1/2 to 5 ft long. Thought it was a moccasin of some type but the more I look through images on the web I keep coming back to an anaconda or constrictor type. I know they are not native here by any means but wondering if it was someone's pet that got loose? I know I could be way off point being that I know nothing about snakes.
It was found in Eastern North Carolina.
Any idea what it is?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I believe from what I can see in the pictures it is a Green Anaconda - which would definitely be someone's pet in your area, I hope it wasn't an intentional release.

That is a Green Anaconda. They are a rare find in NC. LOL Hope you captured it gave it to someone who can take care of it.

I agree with everyone else
Why can't I ever find something cool like that just running around?

Did you pick the snake up and put it in a spare enclosure you have with some nice heat/ water/ meal?
You should really take care of it until you can find the owner/new home.
