how many feeders do you keep?

just got curious... I've only got a single snake so I'll keep 6 or so frozen mice in the freezer, and that'll last me about a month. but how many do you keep? (live or frozen) and how long will that last you?

I have five, soon to be six snakes and I keep $110 worth of food in my freezer. That's
6 large rats
6 rat pups
6 adult mice
6 hopper mice

Once I run out, I go buy more.

I use Rodent Pro. Last order was 50 medium rats and 50 weaned rats. Much cheaper than me buying from PetSmart, and it saves me from having to drive and pick up more food every other week.

I buy only enough rats for the week's feeding. The off weeks will usually consist if 20 some odd rats of various sizes and the big weeks will usually consist of 37 rats of all sizes. I also buy a small rabbit every week for Medusa. I will usually have extra rats because of the occasional refusals but I have the means yo keep them alive another week so it's all good.

i buy in bulk at expos, i probably have 30 jumbo mice, and 40 mediums, and 20 hoppers (i am feeding 6 snakes, 1 eats jumbo, 2 eat mediums, and 3 eat hoppers (2/feeding as im trying to get rid of them)). Last time i bought mice was in march 2013. next expo i can get to i will probably toss all my hoppers left, and buy some more mediums... though now that i have moved to florida i feel like expos are much more common.

Right now I probably have 150 large pinkies, 50 peach fuzzies, 100 hoppers, 50 xtra large adult mice, 50 weaned rats, and around 15 large rats, all in my freezer. This can last me up to 6 months...

I keep adult mouse three-packs in the freezer. The three last six weeks for one corn snake. They are six bucks a three-pack.

When I stocked up I bought 36 small rats, 32 rat pups, 24 pinky mice and 24 fuzzy mice. It will last me 4-6 months. I usually buy them by the bag and they're cheaper.

I only keep one snake at the moment a bci. I normaly buy 10 large rats at 2.50 each they will last me around 20 wks

That's what we did when our collection was at 9 snakes. We always had way more rats than we needed to feed our snakes. Then the colony grew to the hundred, the snake collection grew to a couple dozen and after the divorce, she kept the rays and the business that went with it while I got to keep the snakes. Since then, my collection grew from 22 to 38 along with the corresponding feed bill, but I wouldn't have it any other way.;)

I buy from a breeder for pretty cheap I usually get about 15 small rats and 20 rat pinkie/fuzzy mice. I have to gas them and package them myself but it saves a lot of money for me and I get them packaged the way I like.

I bought (50) hoppers, (50) small mice, and (25) medium mice for $97 from Layne Labs. $53 of that total was for shipping but it was well worth it. This will easily last my (2) snakes for 6-7 months.

What's not on it is the two small rabbits and 4 2XL rats they added. They had a $10.00 off coupon that for what ever reason wouldn't work when i place my order so i asked for two small rabbit's or 4 extra 2XL rats and we call it even. Instead they gave me both.:) If you order from them and sign up for e-mails from them you can get deal and sale prices. I payed a $1.00 for 2XL rats how sweet is that. The shipping may seem high but it's still way cheaper than getting from a pet store.

BTW this order was so big it took three boxes to ship it and it completely filled my deep freezer.

I buy 3 months of food in bulk and then I add in when necessary. I usually have about 60 rats on hand in varying sizes at any given time

I got 50 mice online for $50 plus shipping; for my 1 snake it's pretty much a year supply. It's much cheaper than getting the small packs from petsmart, even though one of those is a month supply.
