Is it just me or is the head shape a little weird? Shorter snout than most, and almost a breeder-bump like curve?

Nope it normal. I have seen it many time. My female Coastal jag i use to have had it. My buddies Irain Jaya as it. The one thing i have noticed is Carpets with this head shape tend to not grow as big or as fast. That just a observation i have made over the years from owning and working with around close 20 plus Carpets.

That's interesting. Have you noticed the head shape change as they age?

Carpet Python head shapes vary slightly from subspecies to subspecies. Jungles tend to have a "blocky" head (esp. as they get older) with an overall shorter snout than say a "coastal", 'inland" or a "Diamond".

Of course, when you add the fact that a lot of our animals are crossed up...makes it harder to notice between these subspecies.
