i would gladly take even 6 months of the above,just to get the summers you do mate.....

all it does all year round over here.....

is piss with rain and look dismal,rain.sleet,snow,fog,then more bloody rain and if we're lucky,really lucky, we may get a day of sunshine 5 to 10 times during a summer...

that said,we actually had a great summer this year,it was sunny for weeks,last time i had a summer like it was probaly the late 1990's

i swear its our miserable weather that gives the Scots and Irish their great sense of humour,because if we did'nt laugh,we'd cry :D

just gotta laugh and get on with it :laugh:

My retirement plan involves 5 full years where I will not ever where long pants or socks. My wife and I plan to sail right out of Toronto and head south. Man I can't wait...well I have 13 yrs to wait but oh well.

Well at some point after the tropics we plan to sail to europe. My wife is Irish and also from Belfast (like the op) her grandfather owned a big pub on Union st. We also plan on doing the scotch cruise in Scottland. See you guys then ;)

All this talk of Ireland and Scotland makes me want to travel there. I've definitely got Celtic (Irish, Scottish, Welsh) blood in me, if the curly red hair and freckles don't give it away then my temper does... :O

I have some friends who came over here from Ulster. I agree, what an awesome sense of humour they have! Love the accent.
