I'm going to try & feed my brb
in its enclosure, now lets see how this goes!
she's been very good with me & easy to
take care of lets see if a stubborn streak appears! :)

Well it went fine!
She took it down with no problem,
Just won't be picking her up for a couple days or a little longer!

Now that she eats fine in the enclosure, maybe you can try some hook training. They can learn over time to associate being lightly touched/nudged with the hook that there is NOT food forthcoming and MAY reduce aggressive behavior when you need to handle for whatever reason. It worked great with my Haitian Boa, Rudy. Right after meals(feeding mode), he has at times struck at anyone moin front of his cage, but between feedings, a little touch with the hook and he's calm, if not thrilled to be picked up.

Well she's not aggressive at all,
I feed her F/T mice,
So I won't handle her till the smell of mice go away,
She's still a baby, 6months give or take..
What is the sole purpose for hook training?
Isn't it only for aggressive behavior?

While I know it has been used to good effect with other species, I've seen the need to hook train Brazilians. They aren't large or aggressive enough to warrant it. Their tongues tell them when to expect food.

I always wait three days after feeding to handle, longer if I'm transporting the animal anywhere.

Well done!

Hook training is for anything the keeper wishes to use it on. Doesn't have to be aggressive snakes or anything like that.

Simply put, anytime you go into the enclosure other than feeding you lightly touch the snake with a hook so it breaks any feeding mood it might be in. Some species are worse than others but it's whatever makes you comfortable.

Honestly, I feed in my tubs and enclosures and always have. I sometimes reach in without a hook first and it's fine. It's whatever you like.

Okay I see now,
I think I will try it!
Thanks for all the positive feed back,
I've learned something new!
Is there a certain way to hook train?
