took my female dum Oracle outside to cruise cuz it's nice out. the last pic you can see the spurs on her tail. i've heard those are vestigial legs and i've heard they are just there for mating, does anyone know for sure why they have the little spurs?

I'm surprised this thread hasn't gotten more attention! I think Dum's don't get the amount of attention they deserve

Wish I had the space for one. Beautiful snakes.

Mines got a T8 which is approx 4' x 2' x 2'. She's a mover, though... She may need something bigger.

Did you get yours with the basking shelf? I was thinking of moving my carpets to a t8 when they are adults with the shelving option.

No. I was scared she would break it (she's pretty fat), and I use a UTH, so I didn't see how a basking shelf would've been effective. I've seen people house Carpets in T8's. Idk, though. For me, it'd depend on how big my carpet was (if I owned any, which I do not) and it would depend on how active they were.

Right, didn't take the weight of dum's into account.

Well, mine is also overweight for her size (weight to length ratio), which doesn't help. This is due to a stupid previous owner. I'm working on thinning her out a bit, at the moment.

Beautiful, I take mine outside on the patio, but he does not seem comfortable in plain daylight. He is always nosing around to find a place to hide.
