not sure if this thread is in the right place lol so excuse me if its not... i have a question about my substrate...
is it possible to re-use the same substrate? like can i take it (soil/sand substrate) and cook it in the oven to maybe kill anything that or whatever, and use it for a different reptile? or should i just get a new mixture made up? just trying to conserve money lol..

I think with repti-bark you can but with smaller particulate substrate not sure how you could rinse all the stained poop and urine.

Substrate is pretty cheap, and seeing as your supposed to change it out when its the SAME reptile, I wouldn't get into a habit of recycling it into other cages. If its bioactive, you could take a bit of it and throw it in with the new soil to get things started kind of like taking water from an established fish tank for a new one. But I wouldn't recycle it when theres so much of it for free outside :P
