I've been reading a lot on the forum lately about thermometers and thermostats. I know that I need to add thermostats to control my UTH temps. I currently have a digital thermometer that I place directly on top of the substrate outside my snakes hot side hide. Will this provide accurate readings?

It should but unless you are there when your uth messes up you have no control over it.

Tis true Terranaut. I'm definitely going to get (2) of those thermostats.

Why two thermostats?
If you need multiple....cost per probe on a fully appointed unit is king.
Get a Herpstat 4.
You get all the bells & whistles and 4 probes controlled on one unit. (350)
If you will never expand and only need 2.... Herpstat 2. (190)
