I picked up Larry a couple of minutes ago and I noticed that the bottom of his body is red. right down the middle. more of a red tint. could it be too warm for him in the hot spot. if it was to hot would he not move to the cooler side????. the red is making me nervous tho. please help.

pictures could help;
how old is the snake? What is your bedding and humidity (how do you measure humidity)?
neonates (JUST hatched) can sometimes have a 'belly button' where their yolk sack was, it will go away and isnt normally an issue. if your snake is an adult you have to start thinking about other things like scale rot, etc etc.
Someone with more experience with hatchling bps could help more, but until we see pictures we wont know for sure.

A photo would be nice, but Larry could be going into shed. I notice a red/pinkish tint to their belly sometime.

Do you have a thermostat?

I have the thermostat. it's always at 85. the red tint I found out was only due too the beading I have.

thanks guys. I picked up some good books on it. the issue was the matearial I was using. it was recommended to me by someone at portcredit pets. I need the all natural fluff stuff. I guess the colour went on him from going into his dish.

85° f is way too cold for a royal.
