My California King Snake (3 feet in length and non-venomous, thank god!) has escaped from its cage. After inspecting the screen, it's no mystery the snake slithered through a narrow exposing on the edge. I am comfortable with the snake, however, he can be a little aggressive at times, and for this reason I am concerned for the safety of my small lizards and kitten should they stumble upon him. Although my kitten may be no meal for the snake, I do not want to risk my kitten being harmed or injured by the snake or vice versa. I have considered flipping my house upside down but my apartment is huge!

If there are any effective methods to capture the snake I will appreciate it!!

Set up night cameras, set up some heat sources with hides... look under fridges, radiators... anywhere where it gets warm or hot.

Although whenever I've lost a snake they were usually in my closet in a bag or a pile of clothes.

Being that it's a kingsnake it shouldn't be too hard to lure him with some mice...since they are always on the hunt.

First lock down the room the cage is in then start looking every where. If you can find it in that room move on. Some snake sreach out heat other a nice tight cool place to hide. so check under and in every thing.
