I apologize if this has already been posted but I saw it on a dog forum I frequent and thought I'd share it here.

It's very tragic but if you're going to leave your animals outside and unattended in a place where large pythons are how can you not expect this to happen?

Just a warning... Some of the photos in the link are graphic.

I'm surprised at how small the snake was compared to the dog.

i saw this story as well;
also want to note that there was some question as to who bit who first, as the snake had several bite wounds to its head and back, though these could have been while the snake was coiling the dog.
i know lots of dogs who would go after an alligator if they could; conversely, my little 3 ft king goes after ME :P

Not again.....

Edit: Although I generally hate dogs, huskies are ones species I actually do really like. That being said, looking at the size difference I couldn't help be amazed at the power of snakes and ability to take down something that size. Tragic but interesting at the same time.

That what make Rocks so deadly then add in they are just some of the most super aggressive python in the world. Even at a smaller size like that they are nothing to mess with.

I did not publish the article. We can't simply ignore when things like this happen.

I think he means that in a serious way. He was arguing with someone (surprise surprise) on fb because they had a pic of a boa free roaming and the cat was about 5 feet away. The owner said the boa wasn't big enough to hurt the snake.

I'm afraid that we will see more and more of these stories out of Florida with the numbers now of these giants in the everglades. Very sad situation.

That's what I meant.
