How many other snake species can be Pied like the Ball Pythons? I have seen calico retics although I know thats not the same thing...but you never see Pied GTPs or even Pied corns.?????

Also, eventually will breeders be able to have some control on a Pied Ball Pythons pattern? As in, instead of it being random, breeders could have balls with a full white stripe down their back, or the reverse?

Sorry these questions are pointless but they are both things I am curious about

I've seen and been offered a PIED chondro. I almost purchased it a couple of months ago to add to our collection, but Helena reminded me of the other projects I had going and we decided that we would pass on it. I'll try to locate the photo and post it. Also Kevin@NERD has a beautiful PIED chondro.

I know a couple people that are pied, though it's only really noticable when there's high contrast between their natural colour and the lack of colour of the pied areas

I know horses can be pied... (either paints or pintos... I forget which one it is...) because my step father breeds them. Couldn't tell ya about much else... ^^;;

About my other question? Do you think one day we will be able to get Ball Pythons with the white markings controlled like as in a white stripe down the full back, or even the normal pattern stripe down the back on a white body? Or is it way to random and you wouldn't be able to achieve anything in the way of certain patterns?

I think that you could eventually change anything with enough selective breeding.....

This is the whole theory of evolution. 1 monkey prefers another with less hair and so does her daughter and a couple of million years later....ta da.... us idiots..lol

With time and technology I would say absolutley. Anything is possible now a days!

I am by all means a moron and this is just IMHO.<- Waver..lol

My two cents!

The "paints" are an actual breed, while the "pintos" are simply a color type. Same thing with "palaminos". You can have a pinto or palamino quarter horse, and you can have a solid color paint. Not to further confuse you or anything.....LOL
