Can remember a thread recently with a list of fish that a sav can eat but cant remember what one it is.

Could I feed sprats from the store to him? They seem a reasonable size so would be able to feed whole. Also how often can they be fed fish?

sprats & trout are the main common ones that are ok, but there's plenty more, has Wayne got them listed on his site!:)

Nice one cheers! Had a look on the site but couldn't find the section on fish.

How often is it possible to feed fish? Like as part of the main diet or occasional?

I would not feed fish as a main course all the time, but I also see no harm in adding whole fish (heads, guts and all) to the diet.

Even my fish eating snakes get mice included in their diets.

My personal opinion (as is that of many) is that by offering a selection of assorted prey items, we are offering a better chance of nutritional completeness.

Yeah ill still be offering a variety but I mean like could I feed every day alongside mice etc? Or more like once a week?

Hi, yes you can certainly feed suitable whole fish very regularly if the monitor will take them.
If you don`t mind the expense, try trout (you probably can`t buy them at very small sizes), but you can always cut them into chunks along the length so each piece has everything in it, also some of the cheaper tropical fish would be good, too.

I get bargains by asking for slightly outdated fish. The seafood counter at my local store will give me out dated shrimp & trout for next to nothing.

You have to tell them it's for animal feed, health code prohibits selling it for human food.
