If possible could point me in the right direction to help to identify a snake which was found in the Kabul region of Afghanistan in the early evening, it was measured at 11 and a half inches in length and approx a quater inch to 3/8's of an inch in width. I would like help on this, so i can educate the people who come into contact with these snakes if it is poisionous or not. From a personal point of view, when removing these snakes from buildings, i would like to know how to handle/catch them and what would be the the best place to release them in. Thanks in advance for your help, cheers Steve.

I could be wrong, but I doubt that a brown snake or Dekay's snake is found in Kabul, Afghanistan.

just web searching i found this Afghanistan Reptiles and Amphibians (http://www.northwestwildlifeonline.com/Afghanistan%20Reptiles%20and%20Amphibians.htm) not sure if its reliable but also says its a brown snake

BoaBoy91, i think the soldier who did the web site you refered to was just generalising when he said little brown snake. After a bit more surfing could it possibly be a spotted deresrt racer (Coluber Karelini or Platyceps Karelini) i don't know but here are some more pics i have taken of the same snake i need help with
