Hi. I have a one year old female bearded dragon. About twice a week I supplement her insects with calcium supplement with vitamin D3 (I think it's called repto cal). But I heard that since I have reptisun 10.0 that I shouldn't use vitamin d3. Should I switch to a different calcium? and if so which one? and would it be smart to give her a multi vitamin sometimes? and if so which one and how often? thanks!!

generally you dont need D3 suppliment with UV lighting, as long as it is positioned correctly, and the bulbs are changed well within their recommended life-span, no harm in an occasional D3 boost tho, but they can overdose so be careful - there are some caveats of course, gravid females and growing youngsters will benefit from a D3 boost, and of course animals with MDB will require it
Calcium suppliments are very important either way, as long as your beardie is getting a varied and balanced diet of insects and fruit/veg, then theres no real need for extra vitamin suppliments unless a specific issue arises, so a simple calcium dusting or gut load is all thats needed

Agreed, I use the calcium drink cubes (gel water for the roaches) and that's it.
If you also make sure that your feeders have a good diet, it passes along to your pet.
My roaches get fed fresh produce and fruit. Healthy feeders make healthy food.
My rodents all get cereals and grains / nuts / seeds that are rich in nutrients to pass along to the reptiles that eat them.
In summary, healthy feeders do not need supplements.
Crickets are like popcorn, crunchy, tasty, kind of filling but not much in the nutrition department compared to a big meaty tropical roach.
