So Red is doing great! He is bulking up surprisingly well. He's a year old and the previous owners were only feeding him a mouse hopper once a week. Apparently, he would regurgitate adult mice as he began swallowing. So, when I first fed him, I bought 4 frozen hoppers just in case it was true. I thawed 2 out and he ate 2 perfectly fine... I fed him the other 2 the next day because he was still very hungry, and again ate them both one right after the other and the first one he swallowed sideways! The next feeding was an adult mouse because I saw NO signs of any issues why he wouldn't be able to handle an adult mouse. He ate it without any issues what so ever! The next feeding, same thing, no problems at all. In just the few weeks I've had him he has put on weight and is looking much better, so the next feeding coming up he is ready for small rats. I want him to have better nutrition, so bye bye mice, and hello a small rat every Saturday :P Once on rats I think he'll start really growing :P He also had a couple pretty bad mouse bites at some point, he has a number of scars on him. Poor guy. I think the mice were just tossed in and he wasn't set up for a proper and effective strike and they fought back quite a few times. With me he's on f/t though, and he took to it very well :) I'm also getting an enclosure build for him and hopefully it will be ready this weekend :P Here's some pics I took for ya :P Enjoy!
