Has anyone ever tried using a greenhouse propagation mat for belly heat? I use these in my greenhouse and they seem like they would be ideal for use in wooden enclosures. They're designed to handle getting wet and run on a thermostat same as a UTH. Just curious if anyone has tried and run into problems that I'm not seeing. Thanks!

I've not used them but I'm interested to know how does the price compare to a normal heat mat and stat?

I use the commercial grade mats and they are quite a bit more; close to the price of an RHP. There are cheaper and smaller ones available but I haven't used them.

I use the propagation mats for all my enclosures. A lot cheaper (ordered online) and work just as good as mats of equivalent size from any pet store and are way cheaper. Seeing as they typically run at about 20 degrees warming than room temp, I just hooked them all up to individual dimmer switches with temp probes and have had zero issues with any of them.

The dimmer (sliding type) make it super easy to control the temps and they help control the humidity a lot better then any heat lamp. Get em and you wont be disappointed.

I use propagation mats and commercial grade mats. Both are good and affordable. These are cheaper and result oriented Mats. I am using these in two different places and satisfied from both brands.
