It super hard to find big enough rats for my red tail however there is a pet store who also sells bunnies (small ones just bigger then xl/jumbo rats ) so today
I picked one up and there largest jumbo but I wanted to know are bunnies worse or better than rats? should I feed a little of both for varied prey items?

I don't think there is a problem with feeding your Red tail rabbits, of course rabbits are known to not have a lot of meat but seeing as they are captive raised and are fed a lot (Or at least that's what I think) then I guess it's alright. But rabbits do cost more so if you have the money then I guess go for it.

I feed both. I tend to mix up my prey sizes a little. 3lb rabbit about every third meal but not really on a shedule. Both my boas love rabbit as does my female jcp. Rabbit is very lean so it is great for boas.

Rabbit is actually cheaper if you adjust your feed schedule to reflect the meal size.

The rabbits are the same price as the rats so I see it as no major burden I figured it would just be nicer to also have them around for food as xl rats aren't always available I paid 8 for a xl (she marked it down to a large) and 10 for the rabbit (normal price of an Xl) there a little pricy I feel but i get my other rodents pretty cheap from a different guy so over all I guess it could be worse.

I pay quite a bit less than that for either.
