what kind of light is it connected to? halogen or incandescent? for eg they dont work with CFL or Tubes. what is the power of the light? it may be that the power calculated for the heat level is not enough to light the bulb

Its a 100w infrared basking bulb so im guessing it should work but aint shure tho
Put the probe on the hot side, you will be able to control your temps better with it there. Has the bulb blown or will it come back on?

that happens with my light emmiting heat sources,if the ambient air temperatures are higher than the stat setting
it only happens on really hot days, the rest of the time the bulb just dims
