So I did a bit of field herping today and look what I found.

As you can see some were shriveled and had holes chewed in them. I open a holed one and here is what I found.

Any ideas what they are? I thought we only had garters here in New Brunswick.
I think they are from a smooth green snake. I guess I'll know in two or three weeks.

Well, a quick search gave me this page from the state:
http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/ensp/pdf/snake_broch07.pdf
It shows many species that have ranges all across the state so its possible that there is more to find than you initially thought!
Based upon a couple quick searches id say maybe the eastern worm? no expert though, i mean i am going off of google images and a state funded guide sheet.

Nice, I would have been pretty excited to find snake eggs. There are no snakes native to where I live.

Okay cool. Yeah the greens are pretty neat, I'm partial to the red bellies myself. Their colors are wicked.

He has been asked politely to take a break and regroup.
Kevin is a friend, we could not just abandon him without giving him a chance first.
That's all, carry on please.........
