I just got a dumerils boa. i think he maybe over weight .he is 10 plus years old ,and around four feet long, and strong as a ox lol. The owner found a new home for the snake (me) and one of the reasons was lack of time spent with the snake, do you think if i started handling and or letting the snake slither around it will lose weight with out reducing the pray size or the frequency of feeding would post a pic but i dropped my 2 year old motorola in boiling water the other day and somethings wrong with the sd card.

How much does he weigh? Remember that Dumeril's are heavy bodied snakes and will be thicker than other boas. My male is just over 6 feet and almost 10 lbs. And trust me, he's not overweight in the least. He eats a jumbo rat every 3 weeks. Here's a pic of him next to a soda can for size reference...
