Eny info apreciated
Malemine is what your thinkin of maybe. I had my 6x3x2.5 made of the stuff, though it's heavy it's rock solid, which can be a worry when making long vivs that the top will sag and stop the glass sliding, seal up the joints with a good quality silicone and water can't penetrate the exposed wood and it should last.

Thanks for that would ply wood not work ??
It would but I think there is a whole sealing the wood process to carry out and I wouldn't have the space to keep it while drying it out and the weather wouldn't hold out either.

i use high quality plywood to build mine then seal with about 5 coats a Behr brand concrete sealer. holds up very nicely to humidity. as Jack said also be sure to seal all of your corners with silicone.
Most wood will work if sealed properly however DO NOT use pressure treated of an sort. The treating prosses uses formaldihyde and is toxic to everything, really it will even kill roaches.

^ this... id also suggest against particle board or mdf. Particle is not very sturdy for large spaces and mdf is just plain heavy...

Yacht varnish can be used too, takes a few coats and takes a good few days if not a week between coats.
To seal it you can use fiberglass resin fast and strong

just be sure to let it air out very well, this stuff can build some pretty nasty fumes in confined spaces
