With my next future boa. I really want to get a BRB, they are GORGEOUS. I'm going to start doing some research on care and requirements to see if they are a good fit. In the meantime, can anyone recommend a good breeder or let me know what to expect cost-wise? I'm in no rush to get one and it will probably be a while before we pull the trigger. Besides, I'll have to finesse my husband into getting another snake. But that's easy ;)

Theres a few BRB breeders on here who can help you out and have beautiful animals. Nice choice btw

Hi the brb is a lovley snake but a neonate will need high humidity as much as 95% and lower heat than other boas. Also a baby will be more nipy but thats part ov the fun lol they realy do make great pets and lovley to look at all the best

95% ambient humidity seems like it would cause RI, wouldn't keeping the enclosure at around 70-75 with a humid hide be best?

It dident harm my one no ri as they get older u lower the humidity to 65 or 70% had my one 3years no problem then got in to bci. So traded for one that was also the ad vice that the breeder gave me stuck to that had no probs. I also thaught this was really high at first but when u consider that brbs almost always hide in leaf s and in the soil were its most humid and moist it makes sens really

Not for neonates. Different species i know but i kept my GTP at 80%+ for the first year.

That's strange how they thrive at a young age in such high humidity, good to know though.

There is also a big difference between being "wet" and being "humid".

If the only way you can get the humidity up is to totally soak the substrate so that the snake is always laid in wetness then you are asking for health issues. A good humid tub without the soaking wet substrate is fine.

SuperSleuth, Brazilians are amazing critters. The main caveats are that they need low temps and high humidty, some of which was covered above. I breed them, so if you have any questions feel free to hit me up here or on the LGR Facebook page.

Snakesitter, I found your Facebook several days ago and already am following it. If possible I would probably end up buying through you. I'll most likely start a baby off in a tub so I wouldn't have to worry about humidity as much. The temps would be easy since the house stays 72-76 most of the year so I wouldn't have a problem with it getting too hot(though of course we'd have a thermostat running). My husband has already agreed to a BRB, so it's whenever I buckle down and get one and get an enclosure set up.

If possible, would you send me a message letting me know how long the wait list is and about what the wait time would be between now and one being available? I know you have a clutch on the ground right now but I'm assuming they're all spoken for. Besides that, I don't really have a space set up right now for a second snake and we have other monetary obligations the next couple of months.
