Hi everyone! I don't have any reptiles at the moment (I do too much research though ), I have two dogs and a bird, and am looking into getting my first snake! I will be soon posting a thread for a couple questions I have on this particular species so stay on the look out :) As my title says I'm new here, and have been lurking for a while :suspicious: , and decided to join! I have so many questions and answers and this forum is going to be a great experience for me :)

You obviously like arboreal snakes, specifically the green tree python!

Hello and welcome. I highly recommend you buy Greg Maxwell's book "The More Complete Chondro" before purchasing a GTP. It is by far the best overall source of concise, well-written information on this species that I have found.
Make sure you have a proper setup in place and that the temperature and humidity are regulated before you bring the snake home. GTPs are very fragile creatures and don't tolerate lapses/mistakes in husbandry very well.
Other than that, best of luck and welcome to the forum!

Welcome! I am new to this forum too, and also the snake world. We had a striped cali king for the past 4 months but he passed away today. I have gotten great info from this forum and wish I would have joined as soon as I got the snake. Thought we were doing great and we loved our snake, but **** happens right?!!
Poor guy, we feel like we killed him but we really did everything right...so we thought.
Good luck to you!
We are looking into getting another cali king...possible a banded king snake. have to clean and sterilize first. :(

Thanks everyone! We aren't going to get that veiled Chameleon, as we will have enough on our plate with the GTP or Carpet! :)
