View Full Version : building a divider, separating during treatment

I have one Vision cage for my two rattlesnakes. Since i'm treating them again for parasite I want to separate them. Can I build some sort of divider for their plastic Vision cage, or maybe put one in a small rubbermaid inside the enclosure for the few weeks or treatment? Would that be messed up and/or ineffective? I really don't want to spend the $500 on another vision cage just to treat them right now, and I don't think i'd feel safe housing a hot in a home built enclosure.

I'd say ineffective. You'd want them farther apart I would presume. I am not well versed in the type of parasites you are experiencing so I could be off.

Thanks for the input....

How do they reinfect each other if the substrate is changed frequently, and they are both being treated at the same time?

Guess I have to start thinking of a way to build a secure temp cage...

As I said I am unsure about the parasites you're experiencing so I'm unsure of how they infect in the first place. I cannot give an accurate answer. Only conjecture that even in close proximity you may still have the issue.

You could try it your way first and then take a more drastic measure if it doesn't improve but there's the risk of death I would guess.

Already went through this once, rather be DONE with it. If close proximity could be the case, is there a realistic chance my burm in an enclosure below them could have caught them? No signs from her that she does but...

Again big guy, I'm unsure of how these parasites transfer and you'll probably answer some of your own questions.

Sorry there's noone else who can help.
