Hi guys! So, about four weeks ago I got a male CRB hatchling. He's very docile and nice, he doesn't come out much. As of right now I have him in a 29 gallon (L30xW12.5xH18) with branches, a large water bowl, a hide on both sides of the tank and lots of plants. I may add a couple more. I'm going to buy a female and I was wondering what your guys' thoughts were on keeping them together. If I shouldn't obviously I have another tank that I could put her in. I wanted to get everyone else's opinions, I wouldn't want the snakes in any bad situation. :)

Don't..... It will be stressful for both snakes. There is the possibility of cannibalism. They may seem like cuddling and the like but will be fighting for the best spots.

On the note of the fish tank.... For a high humidity species like Crbs a screen top aquarium is not the best option although it can be done successfully. Tubs will be easier for just about everything.

I considered that while talking to others which is why I posted on here first :)

My humidity has actually been really well, I have a fogger coming in the morning too! :)

I have never even heard of cannibalism in rainbow boas, however I only have Brazilians. I do agree I would keep them separated, there are a myriad of reasons why it is better for the snake.

Separate is better for a variety of reasons. Snakes should only be housed together when breeding.
