Here are some pics of my ETB on a Hi-Res camera. The ol' iPhone never quite captures everything.

Stunning snake! I hear they are hard to keep though... are they harder to keep than GTP's?

From what I've heard, no they aren't harder than GTPs but I own neither, so can't say personally.

They are basically the same deal husbandry wise.

That's what I thought, it's just that a while back I heard ETB's don't do well in captivity. It may just be a wild caught thing in that case.

This little one is a CB and I'd say it's been relatively easy to care for. I've had it two months and haven't had any problems. I did a ton of research before I got it. If you just follow the advice of experienced keepers and make small adjustments based on the snakes behavior everything else falls into place. It sleeps in tight coils, eats well and handles just fine during the day. Probably don't wanna put your hand too far in there at night, it's head kinda turns into a heat seeking missile. I only mist twice a day and clean the cage every few weeks. I'd encourage anyone who wants one to just do your homework and don't let anyone discourage you if you have a fair amount of snake keeping experience.

....btw, thanks for the compliments everyone. He/she is the prize of my current collection and what has gotten me addicted to this snake keeping thing we all do. GF has me limited to 5 for now. I've had a BRB for about 3 months, this ETB for 2 and just acquired a Dumeril last week. I have a neon blue cali red sided garter coming Thurs, so only one slot left, what should I Do??? lol

Only five? That's like impossible to choose just one more! I say, try and get the GF to pick the next one and become addicted too!

I don't remember if was here or another forum but somebody got a profile of an adult yawning and that thing had HUGE teeth for its size. Don't ETBs tend to have long teeth for snagging birds?
