I saw one - and then I read up on them and fell in love with them.

One thing to be careful about, although they are rear-fanged, from the little reading I've done, it seems that their venom's strength is unknown (Well, or certain reports of it's toxicity were skewed from misreports of different venomonous snakes). That'd be the one thing to research before going further
Anyways, they are beautiful snakes!

Will0W783 (Kimberly) and SSSSnakes(Jerry) on here would be the two people to talk to. I Know they have both worked with them. Also you could try Louis Jacobsz. He very experience with working with Cobras.
I found a reference of some clinically reported cases of Hydrodynastes bites.
Weinstein, Warrell, White, Keyler: “Venomous” Bites From Non-Venomous Snakes:
"Most bites feature uncomplicated local effects (typically mild bleeding, limited edema, pain etc.) Larger specimen may produce more extensive local effects, including ecchymoses and greater edema."
So in most cases the bites had only mild effects, but Weinstein et all describe also cases of allergical reactions after repeated bites, so you should be careful ;-)

Had one. Awesome critter but annoying. Fast. Pissy. Destroyed everything in the cage within minutes of fixing them. Bitten tons of times. Once or twice in the face. Venom is very mild but still be careful.

Have one, very food driven snake. Love her to death.
