The tri-color must be feisty. Hence the glove....
These are some of the coolest looking monitors I've ever seen.
Out of curiosity, how much was it?

Not yet, my guess is the full stripe will be female and partial will be male. The full is slightly smaller, shy, and looks feminine and the partial is bold, the largest of the 4 that live together and starting to look like a young male.

Tri's are around a thousand bucks, but I'm sure gator's friends can get them for cheaper. Also, they are tree dwellers, which means they have signficantly sharper claws, even the gentle ones will rip you to shreds and have your ffriends thinking you slit your wrists.
@Gator, that would be great to get a 1.1 pair. Hopefully the gene proves out (I know your adult pair didn't produce anymore in the new clutch as I saw your posts on varanus) Maybe you just didn't hit the odds right? haha Maybe youll get some super stripes in a few years from these.

14 out of 20 hatched so there was a possibility that I lost a potential stripe or two.
My tri-color is actually pretty friendly for an indo monitor. Has never tried to bite. I had not handled her in 6+ months so I didn't take any chances. Their teeth can do some serious damage. Tri-colors are ranging between 1200-1500 as of last year. I have not seen any available this year or I would have a male already ;)

Super stripes would be awesome. I'm just not counting on it just yet. Genetics are crazy. Some oddballs end up being genetic while some oddballs are only oddballs.

Well my fingers are crossed. Those stripes are pretty intense, I'm betting on genetics. What are your future plans for breeding? Just the sibs or sibs back to the parents as well?

Stripe to partial stripe for sure. Might do one back to dad. Mom has had several clutches of regulars with my first male that never produced oddballs of any kind so mom might get ruled out. However if partial to full produces more stripes then I most likely will ride that horse.
