If I sprayed my backyard with pesticides last year around July or august , and have not since should it be safe for reptiles out there? Its been through 7-8 months of winter as well. If so I'm planning in getting some great shots today :D

Unless you think they are gonna eat some of the grass then you should be fine.

If you are very worrisome then wipe the bottom of your snake with a wet paper towell when they are done.

We will need to see the pics btw =]

what pesticide did you spray? some last less than 24hours, some last weeks or months, some longer.

I'd suggest you dont spray pesticides at all, there is always a natural alternative which is safer for you, your reptiles, and their food - pesticides dont just stay where you spray them

I always wipe my snakes off with a wet paper towel when they have been outside, probably overkill but i go with better safe than sorry

greenist lol not been called that before. but i sense some derision in your post, not really called for is it.

I dont have a problem with pesticides, used responsibly, but as a fan and keeper of the Formica family of insects, aswell as breeding feeders, and keeping reptiles - i think its important to be extra cautious.

I do also feel that pesticides are very much over used, there are always other alternatives which are safer, but require a little more work to make them effective

Between the snow melt, rainwater and runoff, you are golden.

The grass is NOT the same grass as last year. It has been mowed repeatedly since ( I presume )
