I tend to sit in the dark, and the black light makes him glow bright yellow and its the only thing you can see in the room. Hes in a tub since I moved, exoterra has water stains and needs a cleaning so its outside

It switches back and forth between a picture of my son and an awesome retina display desktop of a gtp.

Those photos remind me of either a deep ocean or post apocalyptic times. Eerie. But pretty.

Really cool pictures, but I think ive read somewhere that blacklights bother snakes eyes if kept on for a long time. Im not sure though, does he seem to be affected by the blacklight? I know my GTP will not move around his tank at night if there is any light, he likes complete darkness.

Black lights make UVB rays. And I've read that snakes see in that spectrum, so it's basically like daytime to them. I learned that with my boa constrictor, except I used red lights, which I'm guessing also make UVB rays. Cloud had been spending all day and night in his water dish, and then I read a thread about them being able to see the light, so I started leaving the lights off. He completely stopped going in his water dish that same night, until he started shedding recently, and I haven't seem him in it since this morning. So, from personal experience I would say it bothers them. Of course, my ball python, Bud, doesn't appear to be able to see it, as he comes out regardless of whether or not I have a red light on.
I can't seem to see the photos. :/ This doesn't usually happen, and I saw the other photo posted.

Red light and violet light are opposite ends of the spectrum. Not comparable at all. That being said I think lights at night are only for the keeper and not required.

Ah, I wasn't sure. I couldn't get anything on the spectrum from the red lights on Google or even on the box I got it in. Just how to use lights for turtles/tortoises and such.
