So as some of you know, I got my GTP for free on craiglist. I got an animal plastics 4 x 2 enclosure for 120 bucks. And here is the most epic deal I think anyone will ever get on craigslist. Someone on craiglist had an iris cb70 4 tub animalplastics rack, with tubs, and tape, and a herpstat ND, a hog island boa, female albino BP, and male lesser platinum for 900 dollars. I could use the herpstat so I emailed him saying whats your price on the herpstat or herpstat + rack. He said I'll do 300 for both....and give you all 3 snakes for FREE.
I figured he was going to kick my a** and take my money, so I took a friend with me and drove the hour commute. He lives in a rich as hell neighborhood, and had to get rid of them for a move. All 3 snakes are just as advertised, the rack is brand new, and he told me each was about 1.5 years old.
Can't complain about this deal! Will be getting rid of the BP's once they feed and shed (there is some stuck shed on them) and keeping the hogg island.
Pics to come later.

What a steal. I'm glad for you and jealous at the same time. I'll take the lesser platinum BP if you can sell it to me for a good price.
What part of craigslist do you look under for snakes? I can't find pets or anything under "for sale"
Congrats- I have yet to find an actual good deal on Craigslist. In the past year I have made the effort to try out a couple and every one of them has been a bust.

There's a "pets" link under community, mikoh. :)

Most of them are busts yea. And most of the reptiles aren't in great condition or reliable genetics, but both BP's are visual morphs so....hard to misidentify an albino. Plus I only wanted the rack and herpstat anyways so it didn't matter really. If you go to the community section, and check in the pets (where it says no sales aloud) you will find lots of them usually. Millions of normal Bp's and boas. I check craigslist each morning as part of my morning routine, just for fun. Mikoh, I don't mess with Bp's so I don't know what lesser plats are worth, and I'm too lazy too check.

ah found it. I just checked three lesser platinum ads on kingsnake and they run about 200-400$ depending on how low or high the seller is willing to go.

Wow man nice find congrats. The most "epic" thing on NYC craigslist right now is some guy trying to sell 2 normal BPs for $100 EACH lol. I should email him just to ask what size clown shoes he wears. :p

I saw a rat snake ad without an actual locality/subspecies label running for 200$.

^^^^lol yea they must be proven breeders. My fave is when the ad just says "Ball Python Morph, $867857120135454587.00"

I emailed him and offered him $50 and he got very offended and said the $100 was a deal. lol Glad to know theres another NYC craigslist troll on here. We should coordinate so we do not end up bidding each other up.

Funny they always try to sell things for more than their value when they are trying to get rid of it. They should be thankful they aren't giving it away for free.
What a wonderful deal Smy. You got some nice enclosures out of all that. Snakes of course, a much loved addition. :)
It always does amuse me when folks on craigslist post adds along the lines of 'moving and can't take the snake(s) with me, must find new, loving homes for them by tomorrow!' and then they want wayyyyy over value.
Really now? I just don't think that normal BP is going to sell for $300 by tomorrow.... maybe if you just waited until the weekend. xP
Or that (totally normal) corn snake you're trying to sell for 150 bucks that you caught wild? Sorry, we're in Florida, if I wanted a corn snake I could (surprise surprise) walk outside and go get one myself.

Anyways, I sold the ball pythons to Andy sollecito if anyone knows him from mass. From the beginning I was planning to sell them, and both of them shed the stuck shed almost instantly after being put in proper humidity. He sexed them and they were like they were advertised which is good. I'm keeping the hog though.
In the end, I wanted a rack and thermostat. I ended up getting a rack, herpstat, hogg island for free, and 70 dollars (I sold the Bp's for cheap because he drove an hour and a half and he offered me an internship and some cool snakes in the past)
