Finally got to go to the airport today and pick up this chunky little guy! Super excited and please with the purchase. I go Sunday to pick up a male Aspidelaps l. lubricus so excited for that as well. Now I will just need to hunt down some females in the near future.

Not a ton of info out there on breeding them, some have good success and a lot struggle so not much set in stone like with other species. However these snakes generally get to around 20-24 inches long as adults some big females may push close to 3 ft. So that being said most should likely be at a breedable size by around 2 years of age.

Well for this specific cobra which is not a "true" cobra as it is an elapid but is not in the Naja genus they run around the $300-500 area. Prices will vary with other cobra species though.

Thanks and yeah I fell in love with them at first sight and been a long time coming to finally get one. Can't wait until Sunday to get the A. l. lubricus as well.
I always hear about their little attitudes and was told from the previous owner that this guy was a little feisty and considering that persons collection that is saying something. However got him back from the airport and not a hiss, strike, nothing during the whole ordeal of getting him into his enclosure, calm as could be and still is so far. We'll see if that continues though lol.

Like any other creature, they have their good and bad days. Sometimes when snakes settle in and establish the cage as their territory, they get more territorial and will defend it.

Yeah I've had a few others that have been this way, extremely calm at first then they "settle in". If Al Coritz says he's feisty I'll take his word for it!

Yeah, great guy one of the best and easiest transactions I've had. Animal is in great condition so no complaints here at all. Hope to maybe catch him at a Hamburg show and finally meet him in person.

I have several snakes from Al and he's my mentor. My two Cerastes cerastes, Wetar Island pit viper, two Atheris ceratophora are all from him. My Habus were originally imported by Al for a friend of his, who I bought them from.
Great mentor to have, few of us are lucky enough to have many if any options for mentors let alone someone with his experience.
How do you like the Cerastes cerastes? It's species that I've been considering.

I am very grateful to be able to have the experience. I highly doubt I'd have the wide variety of cool hots I do if it weren't for the training and exposure I've gotten through Al and a few other close friends.
I love the Cerastes! They're quite easy to care for, they both eat well and are beautiful creatures. They were fresh imports from Egypt when I got them- they'd come in the night before I brought them home in fact. The female ate immediately; the male took some work. It took about a month before I got him to eat, and I had to force-feed his first meal. After that, he's been eating, but only live mice. The female pounds f/t.
