Any type of Boa that stays on the smaller side?

So I have had two ball pythons in the past and I currently have a baby butter corn. I have never had a boa but I really don't want one that gets to be huge. Red tail boas for example get to big. Are there any boas that max out around 5 feet that make good pets?

rosy boas, rubber boas, and kenyan sand boas all stay very small (well under 4 feet), and have lots of cool color morphs, and pretty easy care.
Also, children's pythons, spotted pythons, and dumerils boas dont get huge, though dumerils can exceed 5 feet.

You could also look into some of the dwarf/island boas.

Personally, i recommend the Kenyan Sand Boas. As previously stated, they remain small, they are quite docile, are very easy to care for, and there are more beautiful morphs coming on the scene. I truly enjoy mine, and if by any chance you do decide to go with Kenyans, i can point you in the direction of some fantastic breeders to go to when looking for quality animals :)

I hope some others here will give their opinions on what they think is best, as personal experiences with certain animals might make it easier for you to come to a decision.

Google can only go so far in my opinion, it's asking questions of knowledgeable keepers and breeders that makes a world of difference..

Dwarf locality bci may be suitable for you but they still have a pretty big girth so it depends what your comfortable with..

A male Brazilian rainbow boa should max out about 5ft and quite slender in comparison to bci.. These take higher humidity, slightly lower temps and are reasonably shy but are absolutely stunning snakes and are a joy to keep.

^ those are all examples of dwarf boa constrictors. They look similar to normal BCI/BCC and can have subtle/major differences in coloration and pattern. Depending on what you get they can max out at around 3-6 feet.

I shouldn't have said normal bci/bcc. Should have said mainland bci/bcc because it's not like dwarf boas are "weird" lol. So those are some of the choices if you want a smaller boa that actually resembles the looks of common/red tail boa constrictors.

If you want a general list of boas you could go even smaller such as rosy boas, sand boas...etc

Hog island boa if you like the look of the BCI
BRB males are amazing and females only get 6-7 feet so not that huge
Both will not ever eat rabbit .. Which is my personal cut off to size

Dumeril's boas are nice too. They get thick, but normally stay in the 5-6 foot range, although there are exceptions (usually females). My adult male is 5'4" and about 8 lbs at 4 years old. Dumeril's are like lap dogs too!
Tom Prato also breeds a dwarf line of Dumeril's that average around 4 feet but are still nice and chunky. Dan Eby has a female for sale on Kingsnake right now.
